Lemon Verbena

Description

Lemon Verbena is a lemon scented shrub native to the Western portion of the South American continent.  It was imported into Europe in the 17^th century, where it was cultivated for its oil.  Lemon verbena is a common ingredient in herbal teas, and is sometimes used in cooking.

In the hoodoo/conjure/rootwork tradition, lemon verbena is often used to break up a couple.  It is used to sour relationships in such a way as to transform them from ‘together’ to ‘apart’.  It is gentler than some other herbs and roots used for separation, as it doesn’t have the acidity of a lemon.  Lemon Verbena can be used to take off crossed conditions, leaving only good things behind. It is a fairly gentle cleanser too, having the property to soothe the effects a crossed condition can leave behind.

If someone is sniffing around your spouse and threatening your marriage, get their photo (and their personal concerns if possible), and cover their face in the photo with lemon verbena leaves.  Fold the picture away from you, and pray Psalm 46 over it.  Turn it 90° to the left, fold it away from you again while praying the Psalm, and then turn it another 90° left and fold and pray one last time.  Bind the packet up with thread, winding away from you, and throw it over your left shoulder into a river which flows away from your home.
